Does something about life feel harder than it should? You might notice that you don't quite feel like yourself. Or maybe you have never understood why certain things affect you the way they do.
Past experiences and events may still leave you feeling on edge or unable to fully relax. Or maybe sleep feels like a nightly battle, and it's affecting your energy and daily functioning.
You're getting through your days, but it feels like you're spending more energy surviving than truly living. You may recognize some of these experiences:
-
Or like you’re never quite enough? It can feel like certain things in life are harder for you than they are for other people.
You may have started noticing patterns in how you react, relate to others, or treat yourself—like being hard on yourself, struggling to say no, doing everything yourself, or feeling responsible for everyone else. You may have spent a lot of time trying to understand why these patterns keep showing up, but understanding them hasn’t been enough to change them.
Often these patterns began long ago, when your needs or feelings weren’t fully seen or supported.
-
A specific event—or series of events—may have changed things for you. Since then, you may feel more anxious, guarded, or unsettled than you used to. Certain situations, people, or reminders can bring up strong emotional or physical reactions that are difficult to explain.
It can feel like your body never fully relaxes. You may struggle with unwanted memories, difficulty sleeping, feeling disconnected from yourself, or a sense that you're always waiting for something bad to happen. Even when the danger has passed, your nervous system may still respond as though it hasn't.

Sometimes it takes hours to get to sleep. You might lie in bed wondering how long it will take to fall asleep, or whether you’ll wake again in the middle of the night. Other nights you wake up too early and can’t get back to sleep.
You feel exhausted but unable to really rest. You may have tried sleep hygiene, supplements, medications, or doing everything “right.” The harder you try to make sleep happen, the more your body seems to resist it.
It can feel frustrating, discouraging, and lonely to be so tired and still unable to sleep.
You want life to feel more manageable and to feel more present, connected, and able to enjoy the things that matter to you.
Hi, I’m Paula (She/Her), a therapist who brings both curiosity and realness into sessions.
Sometimes this looks like practical, direct support, often deeper exploration, and sometimes we’re figuring things out together. Whatever that looks like, we’re working in a way that fits you.
My focus is on both insight and real change—not just understanding yourself differently but experiencing something different in your day-to-day life. People often find they’re not working so hard just to get through, they're sleeping better at night (even after years of insomnia), and it becomes easier to move forward and feel more like themselves.
Areas of Focus:
-
Let's explore who you are beneath the self-doubt, people-pleasing, and pressure to perform. Discover what feels true for you, strengthen your sense of self, and create a life that reflects your values.
-
You don't have to keep reliving the past. EMDR can help your mind and body recognize that the danger is over, so you can feel more present and move forward with greater freedom.
-
If sleep feels impossible, you’re not alone — and there’s a proven path forward. I offer CBT for Insomnia to help break the cycle of insomnia so you can sleep more soundly and wake feeling restored.
-
Reconnecting with yourself means listening to both your mind and your body. NeuroAffective Touch uses gentle, attuned touch to help you experience a deeper sense of safety and connection.
Life doesn’t have to feel so hard.
Let’s work towards the life you want!
